Reconciling sub ledgers to GL and Tracking revenue adjustments on lowest detail level

CornerStar's Revenue Adjustment Models ensures Sales Analytics data ties out to the financial statements.

Problem: Each month, our client makes hundreds of adjustments to the revenue values calculated by its ERP sales order module—a fairly common problem. They defer service and contract revenue and accrue monthly. They accrue confirmed (not yet received) return material authorizations. Often, they adjust revenue credit amongst sales territories. Manual journal entries were created and manual adjustments were made to revenue reports. Reconciling the GL to the sales reports was next to impossible.

Solution: CornerStar addresses these problems with a Revenue Adjustment Module. This prepackaged bolt-on actually adds power to the client's source systems. It provides a single source of entry for adjustments that affect both the General Ledger and Sales Data Mart. The module handles the synchronized updating of both the Sales and Financial Data Marts, ensuring that sales and financial reports are kept in line with the latest revenue adjustments at a detailed as well as a summarized level.

The CornerStar Revenue Adjustment Module ensures that Sales Analysis data ties to the Financial Statements
